Senior Stylist, Bridal Style Specialist
Whether you are a blushing bride needing an elegant up-do or a young professional looking for a stylish but classic clean cut, Erica Rae and her magic hands can deliver a style tailored just for you.
With 12 years of experience, Erica is more than a stylist; she is an artist. From a young age, Erica has had a flair for hair. Growing up in San Antonio, Erica watched her older sister transform herself into a diva in front of the mirror every morning, often sneaking into her room to play with her makeup after she was gone. “In those moments, I think my calling started to form,” says Erica. “The beautiful ways you can transform yourself with hair and makeup truly are an art form. It’s something I derive great joy from.”
She helped open Jacques Dessange in Austin, which she left in 2005 after gaining valuable experience. Erica then struck out on her own to make a name for herself with a loyal clients including business professionals, models and photographers in the fashion industry—as well as a solid referral network in the bridal industry. While working independently, Erica continued to invest in her education, training in well-known programs such as Vidal Sassoon Academy and taking Kevin Murphy courses in Hair for Fashion, Runway, Rilm and Editorial. That commitment continues to pay off as Erica is regularly invited to support both Austin and New York Fashion Week. Her work has also been featured editorials including Brilliant Magazine, Tribeza, Green Wedding Shoes, Austin Monthly, and 100 Layer Cake.
Erica’s clients call her the ‘Rodin of hair’ because she’s best known for delivering a perfect, customized style. Taking into account personal style, profession and schedule, she skillfully designs a unique look for each head of hair.
Another true passion lies in creating beautiful, sweeping up-dos for Austin’s brides. Having worked extensively in the wedding circuit as an independent stylist, Erica knows just what to do to keep frazzled brides calm and deliver them the hairstyle of a lifetime. “Weddings, for me, are so meaningful. I love being the last one to put the veil on the new bride. It’s a beautiful moment,” says Erica.
When not working her magic in the salon, Erica spends most of her time outdoors; she can be found training for her next triathlon, running a marathon or just spending time with her Goldendoodle, Lucy.
